05/15/2017 Release

New Features

12800- Recipient view and notifications!  Now you can send a link in every package email that will allow your users to see their own package history for the last 30 days without a login. This is designed to cut down the calls to the mailroom even more that email alone.  See this here:   https://youtu.be/zZLpOJSOL1o

12798- New self help and training options! We have added a Help Center to the right of the screen so that you can quickly find step by step walk throughs to see how do things you may have forgotten.  It is great for new staff, but pretty darn handy for everyone.  If you need a walkthrough that we don’t have, just ask and we will make it for you.  See vid: https://youtu.be/y1ewe2wdtvY

12774- Ability to print for one user only.  If you are logging in packages with two different users on two different machines at the same time then printing labels used to be an issue.  Now though, if there are two users with packages to print the system will ask you if you want to print out everyone’s labels or just your own.  See vid: https://youtu.be/yLxGyQgQXAQ

12808-Stay Logged In!  If you are one of our users who felt that the system logged them out too often then you should know that we listened.  You can now choose to stay logged in all day. Just go to your profile info on the upper right of the screen and choose “Don’t log me out”

Enhancements

12801- Better EZCheckout page!  Our EZCheckout page was designed to be, well, easy.  Some users still found it better to use the search page to checkout packages though.  This was becasue they needed to see more details about the packages before they checked them out. Our new layout will show all users the information they need without any extra steps and without losing any functionality.  Check it out here:   https://youtu.be/Ij22PeSMqV8

12807- Amazon Direct Carrier Detection.  Many of our users on the West Coast have told us about Amazon having it’s own delivery service.  Since there are a lot of Amazon deliveries it was a problem that our system could not auto-detect them.  Now it does.  Just scan in your barcodes as normal and our system with do the rest.

Miscellaneous
12795- Updates to MySQL version
12794- Improvements to the production deployment to reduce downtime during releases.

————————————————————————————————————————————–

03/01/2017

New Features

7462- Recipient info visibility to all users.  In the past users who could not edit recipients could also not see their basic information.  We have changed this so that all team members can view recipients but only those with permission can actually edit them.

Better Search results

12961- More targeted results. Now the system will only show recipient info if you search for less than 4 characters.  This avoids the hundreds of unwanted matches when a user might type “1z” for example.  Tracking number searches start at 4 digits or more.

Less cluttered results- On recipient searches we would show all recipients that might match AND ALL of their packages in the pulldown.  Now we will just show the matching recipients on the pull-down.  Clicking that recipient will still give you all of their packages though.

Enhancements

12969-  Case sensitivity in mobile app fix.  Since different barcode readers have different rules about whether enter a scanned letter as upper or lower case, we have changed the system to turn ALL letters in tracking number fields into upper case.  This will also fix a bug in some MC40 scanners which would show case sensitivity at checkout.

12940-  We have added a separate dyno (processor) for data uploads. This means that we can upload databases without it impacting package processing performance.  This will allow us to do uploads during the day as well as at night.

12933- For those users of our mobile Android app, we have added package tracking number to the “failed packages” screen.  This will help to recover the record for failed packages.

Bug Fixes

12970- Fixed issue where a user was able to run the “export recipients” function as many times in a row as they clicked the button.  (you know who you are;-)  This caused a massive spike in server load.  The button will now show you that the report is running and will not allow a user to repeatedly press the button.

12976-  When pushing new features yesterday a bug occurred that impacted the “automatic sending” of emails from some accounts.  We have fixed that issue last night.

12975-  After the feature release some users could not see the graph on the reports page.  We have fixed this.  If you do not see the graph, please clear the cache on your browser.

Miscellaneous

11600- Made the logging of multiple packages on desktop and mobile view a little more intuitive if the user presses the wrong key during the process.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

04/06/2017 Release

New Features

12734-Recipient Visibility!  Your package recipients can now view their own package history (only if you want them to) by simply going to www.eztrackit.com/myhistory  Once there, they would enter their email address and a link to their history will be sent to them.  FAQ:

1.They will ONLY be able to see their own packages

2.They will not be able to make any changes to these packages

  1. They can only view packages logged in during the last 30 days (not calendar month)  This means that if they logged in on April 6th they could see packages as far back as March 7th.

New Reporting tools!

12687-Power Graph!  In addition to packages IN and OUT your package history graph now also shows Emails, SMS/TXT, Printed labels, Reminder notices, Signature, and Notes captured.  You can now see a ton of data in one simple graph so that you can identify problems in a glance.  You can now print that graph as well. Check it out here.

12776-Reporting page “Sort” now maintains the sort order at Print and Export.  Now when you sort a Report, that new view will be maintained when you export it to excel or send it to your printer.

12707- You can now “Clone” a standard report and make changes to it to suit your own needs without having to make it from scratch.

Enhancements

12784-Users can now print multiple copies of a label at the same time by default.  This is for users who wish to print two or more copies of a label each time.  This is in the label settings.

12787-Now, when the system creates a tracking number for you, the carrier will pre-populate to “System Generated” rather than defaulting to the first carrier in your list.

12775-We now capture the device IP address at BOTH check in and check out for added security. Previously, this was only done at check out.

12789-Made changes to the Bulk Upload feature to accept non-US phone numbers.

12791-Installed a “Bad Words Filter” from the system created tracking numbers so that you will never have to write a “Bad” four letter word on someone’s package. (just in case;-)

Bug Fixes

12792-Fixed issue where some accounts were missing some fields from their package emails.

Misc. Admin

12793- Changed importing tools to allow final Legacy customers to be imported more easily.

03/07/2017 Release

New feature

12757- Added the “Location” field as an option for package labels and slips.  User’s using the Location feature can now print the location that the item was logged in on the label.

Improvement:

12753- Time printed on package tags and slips have been updated to reflect the user’s local time instead of GMT.

12685- Updated logic on system created tracking number.  When we first launched we wanted system created tracking numbers to be only 4 digits long.  We had to increase this to 5 digits when some users began heavy usage of this feature.  We have managed to re-work the logic so that it has been shrunk back down to 4 digits to make it easier to remember.  See Video: https://www.screencast.com/t/hRJGsnXhvV4l

12656– Added ability to import “notes” about the recipient.  This will make it easier to migrate remaining Legacy users and help new users “bring” more information from their other systems into Discovery.

9/21/2016 Release

11602- Added a “select all” check box to the mobile view of the checkout page. This will make it much easier to checkout multiple packages for the same user.

12650- Made the check out field on check-out page auto-clear if user scans the wrong tracking number.  This saves the user the time to delete the old entry before proceeding.

Bug Fixes:

11602- Previously, when logging out packages in mobile view, changing the signature type would clear the scanned packages causing the user to scan them again.  This has been fixed.

————————————————————————————————————————————–

8/31/2016 Release

New Features:

11573-  Capture package image.  You can now take a picture of a package when you log it in.  This is perfect for proving the condition of a package upon arrival. (ie. “That hole was in the box when it arrived here, sir”)

12624- Add City, State, Zip and Country fields to label editor.  Normally I would call this an improvement and not a new feature, but this small change allows the user to create a “Return to Sender” label complete with mailing address that can automatically print for a recipient who no longer receives packages with you.

11607- Multi-scan per signature, desktop view.  You can now scan out, say, 5 packages for 5 different people and collect just one signature for all of them.  This is ideal for roommates or co-workers who pick up other people’s packages for them.

12641&10556 – Added the ability for a manager to “Lock On” checkout options.  For instance the manager can make it so that “Get Signature” or “Get Message” is turned on by default to make it harder for a person to forget to collect a signature or scan.  (see video: http://screencast.com/t/bww6Fitiip)

12633- Optimized send messages process to use less resources and improving overall app speed.

12627&12629- Fixed small bugs in the new Locations Feature.

————————————————————————————————————————————–

8/18/2016 Release

12619- Changed the way the search results displayed on check-out page to more closely align with the search and check-in results. This allows search results to be much more targeted to the user’s intention.

Bug Fixes:

12616-  Fixed rare issue where multiple simultaneous clicking of buttons caused 1000 labels to be sent to print.  It didn’t happen very often but it was not pretty when it did.

————————————————————————————————————————————–

7/28/2016 Release

New Features:

Improvements:

10555- Improved check-out process for “get signature”.  The checkout field now clears after each package reducing keystrokes.  Additionally we have greatly increased speed of system during this process.

10550- Search results order improvement.  If user types only four digits of a tracking number to search for it the returned results will put an exact match for the last four digits on top.  This is because many of our users use this method of searching.

11604- Security improvement- System now also notes the IP address of the computer where each activity takes place.  This way you will know who did an action and WHERE that action occurred.

11603- Streamlined and separated email sending process to speed system and prevent possible high usage slowdowns.

Bug Fixes:

10546-  Fixed issue where there a user could check out a deleted package.

Bug Fixes:

10558-  Fixed issue where the full USPS barcode was not being captured by Apple devices such as Ipad and Iphone.

————————————————————————————————————————————–

5/26/2016 Release

Improvements:

7509- The “by Unit” option on the reports section now has the option of “older than and younger than”.  In plain English, it means that when you ask for packages by “1 Month” for instance, you will be able to clarify as “less than 1 month old” or “more than 1 month old”.  This is a small thing that makes a huge difference.

Bug Fixes:

7538-  Fixed issue where uploading larger recipient databases were causing the system to “hang” and appear to never finish the upload.

————————————————————————————————————————————–

5/18/2016 Release

8538- Added ability to use the Topaz pen tablet on the search page as well.

7518- Added ability to apply message to multiple packages upon checkout.  Just as you can apply a single signature to multiple packages, we can now apply a single message or ID swipe.

Improvements:

8537- Sticky note one field.  Now, when you are logging multiple packages to the same recipient, the information in the notes one field will remain in the notes field until you manually clear it out.  This mimics the functionality of the Legacy version and has been requested by our users.

7516- More control on team permissions page. Now, instead of the  “Delete packages and recipients” permission,  we give three options: Create recipients, delete recipients, and Delete packages.  This gives managers much better control over what their team members can do.

7517- Hide deleted recipients from checkout page.  Deleted recipients are now ONLY visible from the search page.

Bug Fixes:

8540-  Fixed issue where desk workers were not able to update and change their own email addresses.

7535-  Fixed issue where the log was recording changes to package history before the user saved them.  This was a small issue that caused no harm but was cluttered up the log and made it harder to read.

7520-  Fixed issue where the phone number field for the carrier would accept any symbol.
————————————————————————————————————————————–

7478- Mobile MC40 and TC55 usability  We have made the system friendly to the TC55 and MC40 Mobile devices so that the built in barcode readers on these devices are most efficient.  Testing shows that these devices can now process packages into the system as fast or faster than a desktop computer and barcode reader.

7521- Mobile   Multi-Scan Per signature.  You can now scan multiple packages out for multiple recipients and get a single signature for all of them.  This is ideal for recording what happens at a “mail stop”

5362- Improved the naming schema for the notes 1 and two fields so that the users can name each field separately. For example notes one could be called location while notes 2 is called PO number.

7482, 5365 & 5364- Now when a user changes the name of a checkbox (ie damaged, perishable urgent) to something else that name will appear in the outbound emails and on all places that the field name would appear.

2/17/2016 Release

Improvements:

5368-  Greatly improved visibility for long tracking numbers.  In the past, very long tracking numbers would not always be visible or would “over run” other fields making both difficult to read.  Now, the tracking number fields are much larger to allow greater readability. Any tracking number too large for the new field will either flow down to be a two line long number or show their full value on cursor “hover”. (meaning when the cursor is placed on top of the number.

5358– Improved signature capture on mobile devices.  Previously if the screen of the device was rotated between the moment of the signature and the time the user pressed “save” the signature could disappear.  This can no longer happen.

5414-  Deleted packages are no longer on the “to be printed” or “to be messaged” lists.  This means that if you delete a package before it is printed or messaged (ie emailed), this package will not be printed or emailed with the batch when it occurs.  This is common sense, but we missed it until we got some great feedback from a user.  Our users are awesome!

Bug Fixes:

5427- Previously there was a small chance that if someone clicked “download csv” that file could be deleted. This possibility was removed.

Improvements:

5315-  Added header and footer to reports pages that includes the Organization name, logo, report name and date printed.

5314-  Made upload error csv “re-uploadable” this means that if you do a batch upload of recipients where some fail you will get a new CSV.  This new CSV file will contain all of the errors messages for each failed recipient.  This file is formatted in such a way that you can fix as many of the records as you can and then upload that same file back into the system.  This makes it much easier to see what is wrong and how to fix it.

5326-  Improved functionality on mobile usage by making the navigation menu auto-close after going to a new page.  Previously, the user would have to close the menu after each new page.

5339-  Added new Favicon to EZTrackIt Discovery.

Improvements:

5294- Improved search results on search page by showing recipient matches before package matches.  This makes search more usable for very large databases with multiple matches.

5305- Improved the invitation of team members by adding a status column for each member.  This shows if they have activated their account or not and allows the user to re-send their invitations if necessary.

5298- Removed some keystrokes from the quick print and quick message buttons to increase speed.  There was a well intentioned pop up message in certain circumstances that has been removed.

New Features:

4279- Packages that you have marked “Damaged”, “Perishable” or “Urgent” will now get special emails and messages! Messages for package marked as “Urgent” or “Perishable” will be sent immediately and skip the regular package queue.  Additionally the word “Urgent” or “Perishable” will be added as the first word of the subject line as well as the first line in the body.  This was a fantastic suggestion from one of our users.  “Damaged” items will also have similar wording in the subject and body, but will not skip the package queue and will be delivered according to your regular rules.

Improvements:

3240- Larger font size for package tag.  We added a new size called “HUGE” to our printing options to make tags and slips easier to read from a distance. This was also a great request from a user.

4284- Live link on tracking number.  Now, similar to last week’s release of live link on recipient name, clicking on the tracking number of a package will take you to the search page with that packages results already loaded for you.  This is one of those little things that just makes the system easier to use.

4290- SMS sending status on recipient upload. Now if uploaded recipient is set to get text messages, but they have no SMS number on file the system will automatically correct the settings.

Improvements:

10/05/2015 Release

New Features:
3171-Added the abiliy for each Org to have it’s own time zone, rather than using system time. This will make it much more clear exactly when each event occurs. We know that this one has been waited on for a while and we are happy to roll it out today. We have adjusted the time zones for all of our existing Discovery Users for them already, but if you want to make sure, you can take a look at the time recorded on a recent package to make sure that it is correct, or
log into your account,
click your Org logo on the upper left of the screen,
change select your time zone from the pull down menu,
and press save.

Improvements:
3185- Improved the way team permissions work so that a user can be blocked from being able to change the Org settings, while still being able to add new people to the team.

————————————————————————————————————————————–

09/09/2015 Release

New Features:

3158-Added the ability to edit the subject line for added customization options for our clients

3159-Increased speed and ease of use for larger databases by  adding multi-search.  Multi-search works in much the same way as it does on our legacy product.  If you are adding a package or searching for a client instead of typing one search term, like “john” which might return far too many responses to be useful, you can now type “john mi” for example to get “Michael Johnson”.  Just put a space between each term and it will do the rest.  Finding “frank Townsend” in Washington Hall room 302 can be done by typing “302”.  If that returns to many hits you can add a space and type “fra” or “Town”, etc.  It is quick and easy to learn and use.

3165-Added the ability for recipients to have more than one email address.  The first email on the list is considered a primary email address, the rest are secondary.  The primary email address must be unique.  The secondary emails can be repeated as needed. Just separate each email address with a comma.  (no space, only a comma)

3160- Gave the user the ability to restrict which people can edit a recipient.  This helps to tighten security and keep mistakes from happening.

3166- The “number of recipients” displayed on the main package logging screen has been changed to “Active Recipients” and now displays only the number of active recipients and not any recipients who have been archived.  This will give you a much better sense of how many actual recipients you have.

Improvements:

3083- made the log-out process more clear to the user.

3157- enhanced security by restricting who can delete vs archive an org

3164- Added full country list to the “edit recipient” page.  It turns out that there are more than just two countries out there.  Who knew? 😉

Bug Fixes:

3156- fixed bug which reversed the address 1 and state fields on Edit Recipient page

3169-fixed typo on “Blocked account” page which showed an incorrect support phone number.

3170-Fixed Bug where team members status showed as “not registered”
