So many things have happened in 2012 that I was very grateful to have a little quiet time with Suzannah while snowshoeing to think about where EZTrackIt and our package tracking software are going in 2013. You may think that, as a package logging software company, all we do is think about packages, but you would be wrong. The packages themselves are largely uninteresting cardboard boxes destined for someone else’s hands. The thing that continually sets EZTrackIt apart from other companies is that we spend all of our time thinking about the people involved in this process and how they use our package tracking software. I often say “our job is to make your job easier”. This is, of course, a lot easier to say than to do.
Humans are not machines and in this case it is our package logging software that is the interface between technology and people. In my opinion, the most important aspect in creating technology is not the technology itself, but the way it interacts with the human being on the other side. As we did last year, we will be spending a great deal of time and effort streamlining the interface between our users and the information they need in 2013. We will continue to refine and tweak our package tracking software to make it easier and easier to use. We also have several new features planned which we think will make not only our clients lives easier, but their package recipients’ lives as well.
Although I am pretty open by nature, I have learned that it’s not always a good idea to tell everyone what new features are planned for the future. That said, I can let you in on a little secret about we will be releasing in the first quarter of this year. We will be unveiling our lobby package screen. This will display the package recipients who have items waiting for them on a large LCD monitor. This is just one more way that we will help you connect to and provide excellent service for your package recipients. This addition to our package logging software will help to get packages picked up more rapidly and to make it crystal clear who has items waiting for them. We put a lot of time into this one, and we think that you will really like what you see.
We have so many more new and exciting features coming in 2013, I just wish I could share them with you now. Since I can’t, I will just ask you to “stay tuned” to what we have in store for you.
