Maybe it’s just me. I feel like, in society today, we have this general feeling of “things aren’t perfect so I can’t be happy yet”. I know that I feel that way a lot.

Most of us can list off all of the areas that need some serious work in our lives: housing, weight, family drama, free time, getting older, in-laws and of course, money. This can leave us bogged down in feelings of lack when we really do have so much to be grateful for.

If you think about it, Thanksgiving is an amazing holiday that we only have here in North America. It reminds us to take some time to appreciate everything we already have. And you know what’s really nice about it? It’s that we’re not even pressured to buy stuff (until the day after).

In a country that’s so inundated with commercialism, you could even say that it’s the least “American” holiday we have. And yet, it’s an American original. It’s no coincidence that it’s right before shopping season starts. It’s so important to take a moment to be grateful for what you have before you start thinking about giving or receiving gifts.

Take a moment to appreciate your surroundings

I plan to take some extra time this year to acknowledge and value the amazing fortunes that I have in my life and I know that you will too. Gratefulness is like that feeling you get when you put your busy day on pause to take a slow, deep, mindful breath. It really helps put things in perspective.

I have taken about an hour this morning to just be calm and be thankful. The first thing that I’m thankful for is pre-school, which our toddler loves. But, I’ll admit, it also allows me this quiet hour at home in the first place.

I want to thank our EZTrackIt customers as well. They have taught us so much and have helped us improve our product in so many ways. I feel that we’re blessed with a core group of people that genuinely want us to succeed and are helping us to do just that.

Thank you for being a part of our EZTrackIt family.
