Package Logging Software Tackles Fall Package PilesOne of the tools I have at EZTrackIt is the ability to see how many packages are logged in everyday with our package tracking system. Every year at about this time I watch the inbound package volume spike as students begin the fall move in. While you may know well from your own experience just how crazy it gets, let me give you a bird’s eye view of what I can see. From a normal volume of packages in the spring, the volume in our package tracking system drops by two thirds over the summer. When the fall move in arrives, the tidal wave of packages begins.

A tripling in volume from summer levels would be bad enough, but the actual increase we see in our package logging software is much more than that. Fall move in package volume is 50 – 100% greater than the typical volume in the spring. This comes on the heels of a summer lull, so the change in package volume is enough to give just about anyone whiplash.

When I think about this massive increase in work I really do wonder about those schools who are still logging in packages by hand. While our package logging software cannot take away all of the steps and efforts involved in logging in a package, we do know from time trials that we can make package logging 4 – 10 times faster than by doing so by hand. One of our clients says that they used to spend 2 hours to log their packages in, but now that they use the EZTrackIt package tracking system it only takes them 20 minutes to handle the same number of packages. Can you imagine that kind of time saving every single day?

There is a huge wave of packages headed your way. Is it better to keep trying to swim against the tide by logging them by hand or are you ready to use EZTrackIt to catch the wave and surf it in to shore? If your answer is the latter, reach out to us for a demo. We’d love to show you how our package logging software can streamline your campus mailroom.
