Every industry faces it. Whether it’s hospitality, corporate, residential or even educational institutions, you may find yourself with more time on your hands than normal for a few days. That’s because people are getting ready for the holidays and are still shopping for that perfect gift! In about a week or so, the onslaught of packages will arrive and the mailroom will experience the busiest season of the year.
When this brief lull in inbound packages arriving happens, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the things that are working for your mailroom, and the things that aren’t. Is it difficult to find a package when a recipient comes to pick it up? Perhaps there is a way to re-organize the area in which the packages are stored. The lull doesn’t last long, but it is always great to sit down and just reflect on what all staff members can do to make the mailroom less hectic.
