Package Tracking Software and TradeshowsDespite what people say, most of us don’t like surprises. I found out about a trade show for co-op and condo buildings right here in NYC just last week. It seemed like the perfect fit for us here at our package tracking system company EZTrackIt, but it was only a week away and there was a real concern that we would not be able to get everything ready in time. There was also a host of other concerns; is this the right audience, would they understand what our package logging software does, would this show pay off, etc? There was a lot of inertia in play. I mean, we never did this show before and things have been OK without it, so why take the risk? We soldiered on though, and took the gamble.

When we arrived at the Hilton Hotel on Tuesday we were nervous, but excited. We had set up the booth the night before as we do at every show and we were relieved that all of equipment was still there that morning. Suz and I put on our brand new “EZ” shirts that we had custom printed just the day before and we were ready to go. I have to say that no matter how many trade shows we do, I am always a bit nervous just before it starts. We are ready to go, the booth is looking good and the projector is showing our website. I nervously kept thinking to myself “I hope they show up, I hope this is worth it.”

Just a moment later, at nine am, the floodgates opened. Suz and I were both doing demos and explaining what EZTtrackIt’s package tracking system does as quickly as we could. We talked about our package logging software at a furious pace (even for New Yorkers) and then, in a whirlwind, it was 4:30 and the show was over. We were so busy that we never even had time to stop to eat lunch. It turns out that this was a good place to be after all. You know what else? There is another show next week in the Javits Center on Wednesday and we just signed up! I will probably be pretty nervous about that one too.
