Package Tracking Software Features- Barcode Scanning & MoreNow that most students have been back in school for about a month, this is typically the time to prepare all faculty and students for the exciting events in the upcoming semester. Faculty and students spend countless number of hours making sure that all of the entertainment events, sports games, fundraisers and pep rallies run as smoothly as possible. Putting that much effort into the care of the events that happen at your school is automatic; putting the same amount of care into your package logging process may not be as second nature. But it can be with EZTrackIt’s package tracking software.

It is probably routine to receive packages every day. (The amount is often dependent on the size of your institution). When students are relying on their packages arriving and reaching them safely, it can be a tall order and sometimes overwhelming trying to track. That’s why EZTrackIt’s package logging software makes sure that checking in packages, notifying your students or staff of the package arrivals, and ensuring they receive them in an efficient and timely manner, is made easy. There’s nothing worse than an unorganized mailroom with hundreds of packages scattered all over the place!

EZTrackIt’s package tracking software is super easy to use, and I promise it will save your institution the time needed to spend on things that are a little more interesting.

In my eyes, there are three features that make logging in a package with EZTrackIt super easy:

  • 1. The shortcut ID. This package logging software feature allows a user to search for a recipient by their unique ID (dorm number, classroom, etc) or by simply typing the first few letters of their first name, a few of their last name and a list will populate. The more that is typed, the shorter the list becomes. It makes searching for the recipient as painless as possible.
  • 2. The notes field. It’s actually pretty self explanatory, but I believe it doesn’t get as much credit as it should. How often do boxes that are damaged, or from a specific location, like Amazon and eBay, arrive at your mailroom? Amazon and eBay packages probably arrive quite frequently. Perhaps a student is waiting for a very important item they ordered, and if “Package is from Amazon” is listed in the notes filed, that will be seen by the student once they get their notification of a package waiting to be picked up.
  • 3. The last feature, that is probably my favourite of them all, is called “another package for this person”. Let me explain: It is probably common that multiple packages come in for one recipient. What can be frustrating with other packaging programs’ is that you manually type all of their information in and then scan the package EACH time. With our system, simply click the “Another package for this person?” button. This option leaves the user ID the same, who’s logging the package in, what the type is (box, letter, etc) and who delivered it (UPS, FEDEX, etc); and if it’s a different courier that delivered the package or a different type, just simply change that by a click of the button, scan the tracking number, and continue on logging packages. You can log as many as you’d like for one person with that feature checked.

In reality, spending ages in the mailroom processing packages for students is a hassle, and an unnecessary one at that. Switch to EZTrackIt. We ensure that logging package is made easy and that you’ll have pride in the fact that you’re using a system that is proven!
