Package Tracking Software During Exam SeasonA lot of students are currently studying hard for their midterms, which are currently being administered, or will be in the very near future. That usually means that most of the residents on campus are either catching up on their sleep or in the library: essentially away from their dorms.

What kind of effect does that have on your mailroom? I think the answer to that question is pretty simple: it completely varies. Although the residence area of your school may be a lot quieter than usual, that doesn’t mean your Mailroom will be quiet as well. We understand that the onslaught of packages never really slows down! EZTrackIt also understands that due to your students being pre-occupied with their midterms, they may forget to pick up their packages when they receive notification.

This can definitely wreak havoc for the mailroom, and make it a lot more congested than usual. But with EZTrackit’s package logging system, you have tools to prevent your mailroom from being bogged down with these forgotten packages. Remember that our package tracking software provides you with the option of texting a recipient when they have a package waiting to be picked up. Although that may not generally be the best way to contact them, during this busy time of the year when they’re likely dreading having to turn on their computers, a text may be the best way to get their attention.

Setting up text notifications is super easy! Keep in mind that this does not have to be done for all recipients, just for the ones who consistently forget to pick up their packages. When you launch our package logging system, go to that users “profile” tab on the database, scroll down to the very bottom where it says NOTIFICATION OPTIONS and beside TEXT MESSAGE click yes. Don’t forget to add their cell phone number right above the NOTIFICATION OPTIONS if it is not already updated.

If there are any tips or tricks that you use during this stressful time of the year, whether they involve our package tracking software or not, feel free to comment with the suggestions. Perhaps another mailroom supervisor will find them helpful!
